I have received emails asking why I deleted all of my posts...I will answer that in this post.
This will be the only post I make on this forum and will not respond to any threads. Do not email me asking for private info or further explanation...regardless of current relationship with me. There will be no answer.....as far as relating to this post....of course I will always chat with anyone...just do not want to discuss the T2 further.
First off, I do not receive any compensation for anything I did with the T2. Just so that is clear. Overall the T2 is one of the deepest machines I have used....that will remain a truth.
However, over the past several weeks I have run in to several serious flaws in it's operation that basically killed it as a main machine for me to use.
These scenarios were not encountered during the first 4 weeks I used it as the conditions were not present at the 2-3 main areas I was hunting. When I moved to other different conditions the problems started to pop up.
Now I have spent the past 25 years as a Field Engineer in the medical laser field and part of that was a divergence as an Engineering technician developing medical instruments. Although I am NOT an authority on detector technology I do at least have years of experience testing and debugging complex systems. So in testing the T2 I have a basic idea of how to find bugs and then try and see if I can find a user fix or also how to try and see if I can find a scenario that can even make it worse.
Yet I am not the final word on this machine and unless I was paid..Ir I really don't care.
Since I have no financial interest in this machine and do not wish to deal with emails and questions further I will not reveal what the issues are but suffice it to say it is NOT bottle caps for me.
One of the two problems is with a small target that is almost constantly mis-identified as a penny/dime target...yet is not anywhere near this ID range.
I did not run into these targets much at first but as I moved to other less hunted locations they became more prevalent. I tried everything I could think of to try and find a way to ID them correctly but with not much success outside of digging them up and then when they were on the surface they would ID correctly....but not at any depth...and I am talking about only 3 inches.
This became so frustrating I dinged a silver mercury because I was tired of hoping for a good target while digging these other targets....I was careless and nailed the dime. fortunately it was just a common merc.
The second issue is environemental...and will not affect everyone as neither will the previous. It is one that will only affect a small group.
However, I am not here to solve Teknetics design problems. I could help them in throughly testing combined with feedback but, of course, that is not my current relationship with them. I am just a user.
So it is up to them to find the bug and fix them on their own. I tried to establish a contact with them but that basically was pointless. So if you want to know what these potentially irritating issues are...ask them...except they won't know. Although some of us do.
I have enough obligations with a wife, 3 teenagers and a career that I do not need to spend as much time as I have with testing and debugging this detector. I realized....what the heck am I doing....this is a hobby for me...not community service whereby I perform professional services for free.
Plus...and this is related to deleting my posts...I do not need the hate email I am receiving. Some of it was threatening bodily hram...which I laugh at but it does not set well with my wife...regardless of my laughing it off.
So...I sold the T2 and went back to a Classic ID with bills mods for now. It handled the two issues without any problems and always has...so for now the T2 is done. The person who bought mine will receive a great detector. It works great and comes with a coil cover too....![Smile :) :)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
Now off I go back to just detecting and enjoying my relics. I have had enough with trying to help a detector along with tests and results. I..am not loaded...however first Texas is....they can pay someone else to find these results along with some of the parameters that are required to initiate them.
My information is mine to do with as I see fit. I am not going to help along along a multi million dollar organization for free...not am I going to divulge in any longer an a public forum and drag myself into arguments and debates that chew up my FUN time.
These are my choices, you may choose a different path but that is your choice. Respect mine...and I will respect yours.
