I used the dime for size comparison.........
The objest to the left of the thimble is lead(Any ideas) <img src="/metal/html/confused.gif" border=0 width=15 height=22 alt=":?"> Also this is my first thimble SILVER found at a mid 1800"s sits heavely grown in area.
Any help ??? with the button ??? <img src="/metal/html/confused.gif" border=0 width=15 height=22 alt=":?">

... the button or the other smaller round object below the Merc... but the round thingy with the bar across it looks like a long coat weight to keep the bottom from flipping up in the wind. Try using a photo shop type software to lighten and adjust the contrast for a clearer view on the other items... HH

... after I posted I thought of that too. They tended to be a little smaller for the ladies. I guess women had them sewn all around to keep their skirts from giving the guys a peek when a gust of wind came along, he-hee. HH
