A few Sunday finds.

You digging everything? That chain had to come in around 10-11. Which park did you find that chain/bracelet at? That has to be worth some $$.

Looks like you had a great day.

One other thing I wonder...how many wheat pennies do you typically find - like today?

Very nice, you gotta like digging up the gold loot! I hit the big trash heap in Troy for a 1874 IH yesterday and half a dozen wheats. I had the park all to myself, think I saw 3 people there the whole day.

Hi Charles,Yes gold is nice I don't get it often enough. I'm trying to break the habit of only listening for the silver I'm sure I've been missing quite a few gold targets. I actually got a great signal and as I was kneeling down to dig I saw the edge of it mashed into the muddy ground. It was over at Beverwyck, probably lost by one of the people playing flag football. It's nice hunting that Troy park this time of year. They usually have the gates locked so you don't see many people at all.

Hi Bob. Well not digging everything just trying to dig more good signals in the gold range. I figure I have to get a little gold for every few hundred pull tabs. The bracelet came in at a good solid 7 usually I would have passed it by thinking foil but it was a very clean signal and I actually saw a portion of it pushing out of the muddy ground as I went to dig it. I ran my coil over it after I got it out and then it started coming in at a 10. As far as wheaties go usually I'll come up with a half dozen or so on a typical 2-3 hour hunt.

Hi Angela. At first in the ground the signal was a solid 7 very clean and repeatable It wasn't deep, just under the surface I actually spotted a small portion of it as I went to dig it. Ran my coil over it a few times when I got it out and started giving a 10 with an occasional 7 towards the edges.

Nice find. A lot of coin hunters miss gold myself included. Chopped up aluminum cans usually read 7 also. Seem like gold gives a more solid signal but it's still hard to tell.

Hi JHM. I agree I would love to find more gold but I'm afraid I'll be digging alot of foil and pull tabs to get it. I find it real hard to focus on the lower numbers especially after quite a few years of concentrating on the silver. I suppose you would develop an ear for the gold after awhile. I think I'm going to make that my main goal for next season, a gold coin. Hey by the way how you doing with the V
I took the T out today and scored a 1947 washington quarter and a 1905 Indian.

I used to find gold when I first started hunting and had a beep and dig detector. The V has turned out to be pretty good in trash. I dug 2 dimes(1938&1944) the other day in a spot I know I had hunted before. The deepest I've dug so far is about 6 inches. I don't think it's as deep as the T or the Quattro but I think it's going to serve it's purpose. The Q is still my main machine.Judging from your post, I'm sure you won't have any problems finding gold. "Mastering the Quattro" states the it makes a different tone but I can't tell the difference. You've got to have an awesome coin collection. My goal is to find some older coins. I may take the Quattro to some Civil War camps and hunt for coins. Good luck with your quest.
