A few questions on the X-Terra 70

Is the threshold tone available in all modes or just the prospecting mode? How many tones is the "multi tone" mode? Does the X-Terra have modulated audio in the disc mode? (Deeper targets sound fainter, weaker) And one last question (for now anyway HA!) How much adjustment do you have to the iron mask mode?

The Threshold volume adjustment is available in both modes; however, the TONE can only be adjusted in the Prospecting mode.

How many tones is the "multi tone" mode?

In Multiple Tones (99 on the menu), the pitch or tone varies from 130 Hz to 950 Hz based on the target ID; i.e., similar to the Sovereign, where the higher the reading the higher the pitch. A lot of users will like the ability to ID a target based on the audio and confirm it with the visual indication.

And one last question (for now anyway HA!) How much adjustment do you have to the iron mask mode?

The Iron Mask feature also only works in the Prospecting mode. The visual target ID is also lost in the Prospecting mode as the display shows the IM setting. IM is really not the same as IM on the Explorer's. The range of adjustment is from 0-20; i.e. the more the number selected the more ferrous rejection is applied to the signal. Obviously as you increase the setting you may loose small non-ferrous, low conductivity targets.

Hope this answers your questions . ..

Did you have a chance to use it in areas infested with hotrocks and high mineralization? These are the sites I'm forced to hunt here in Western Washington and the Whites machines with adjustable pre-amp gain and hotrock accept/reject have worked the best for stability and depth. I'm just looking for as many excuses as I can find to buy the new X-70 Thanks.

I read a previous post of yours about digging some wheats and old silvers at 8"+. Just wondering on these targets was the target ID (numeric and tone) correct and did they "lock on" ID? Also was wondering about modulated audio-could you tell they were deep by the audio signal? Thanks for the help.

Sent a number of PM's with operating frequiencies dealing with the coil selection and got focused on Khz vs hz
