A few questions for you Experienced Explorer Operators...

Can you hunt successfully by only listening to those Explorer tones, & not pay too much, or any attention at all, to what the visual screen is displaying?
Do the good deep signals really sound off distintivly & jump out at you when hunting among iron while in the ferrous mode?
Is hunting successfully in & among the iron with an Explorer a learned thing? Maybe some folks... are better at it than others?
Thanks
Mike

1-yes
2-yes but might have to clear a bit of the iron out first, nothing is perfect but of set up right the xs is close .Big pc's of iron are better off removed and some of those scraps could be more than they look like at first glance
3-yes and with a little work it pays of ten fold as the sayin goes.If you put the time into the unit and tones, you are well rewarded and let me add, there is no shame in diggin iron as long as you get your finds

I think that you should use all of the tools provided. Sound is the most important. Sometimes I dig iffy sounds and get silver with some iron in the hole. Sometimes it is just a nail. Always dig a good repeat deep signal. Yesterday I got a good repeat at 11 inches, but the tone was low and the icon was down in the bottle cap area. It was a Merc dime.

Hello Mike,
Brian is correct. There's no shame on digging iron if you are still finding coins. I dig only the deep targets and half or even more of my daily finds are iron or condutive trash.
Once I learned and trusted my Explorer. My Wheat pennies and Silver coins have greatly increased.
