A Few Overnite Trip Finds

Well-known member
Finds are from a Saturday over night trip with my wife to a larger city a few hours from home. City parks were the target for me. Thrift Stores for her.
The 1928 standing liberty quarter was an absolute banging signal on my thunder coil. It was about 8 inches deep. It was at a 45 degree angle.
The skeleton key read like an Indian Head as the loop portion of the key was shallowest. The old flower pin was also about 8 inches deep.

Also found was a deep old oil lamp with 1870s patent dates. The key is a Caskey Dupree key from a 1919-1925 car.
The Schwinn emblem was folded up when I found it.

Quarter is 1928.
Dimes are 1941 and 1964 (Canadian).
Nickels are 1912 Plain, 1959.
Wheat pennies are back to 1910.

Those are what I call "quality targets". Very well done!

Excellent finds !

Hi there Flood...

Your Thunder is certainly waking-up those coins !!!!

"The 1928 standing liberty quarter was an absolute banging signal on my thunder coil. It was about 8 inches deep. It was at a 45 degree angle."

I for one, really appreciate your attention to meaningfully reporting finds, as shown in the quoted 1928 Liberty quarter$.

Its diameter is a fraction under ONE INCH, and its thickness (1.75 mm) or approx.,0.07 inch thick.

Your THUNDER coil's characteristic depth performance is about 10.5 inches on a 1 inch diameter coin,

I state that for a manual sensitivity of 22.....(at a ground state giving Auto-sens level of 16)

To estimate the max potential depth of your Thunder finding a coin..multiply coin's diameter in inches x 10.5.

i.e. 0.7 inch coin.....10.5 x 0.7 = approx 7.35 inches.

Thanks for sharing.....Matt
