A Few Old Coins From An Old School

Sooper Dave

Well-known member
I went out to another old school that I've wanted to hunt for a while but is out a ways from home. The school was built in the 20's and has a big field beside it that I'm sure was used as the play areas. The grass was pretty tall but I was still able to swing. The first signal I got was screaming silver and I dug a nice Merc. I thought this place was going to be loaded but the signals were few and far between. I hunted it pretty hard and got three Mercs & a Buffalo along with a few wheats. I was hoping it would produce a few more keepers but it was a fun hunt. It's getting harder to find these old schools close to home. I'm going to have to get back to door knocking. HH David

I'll take 3 mercs and a buff any day! Nice finds!
Old schools are great if not pounded! Few decades ago i searched an old school built in the 1920s. Found a lot of silver and other great keepers and that was with my old Garrett detector. Would like to return there with my eTRAC, problem is its in a bad area these days.

Good hunt in Dave! I've hunted old places I thought would produce real good but not find hardly a wheaty.

WTG Dave !
