A few new finds

Got out for a little yesterday, Found a nice bayonet scabbard tip ,small buckle, change and a little gold ring. All in all a good day. Still getting used to the MXT after switching from an XLT, but I like it!

A gold ring day ? Yeah I'd definitely call that a good one. Nice work. The MXT sure doesn't have to wait for you to "learn" it before it starts helping you make some great finds does it ? Keep at it.

You had a great day with the MXT. The more you use the MXT, the more you're going to like it. The gold ring is quite a BIG bonus find. Way to go!!! HH, Nancy

Not only do they work well, but they can be put into action quickly, provide excellent in-the-field results, and don't mess with your mind or time by encouraging you to tinker with all sorts of adjustment functions. Just "gut performance" and that's what I prefer. I'd much rather detect and have fun than fiddle with a lot of controls ... many of which are often unnecessary.

It looks like you had a very good day and the results should instill confidence for future searches.

Best of success to you,

Monte

Hey Natejimmy you picked a good, high performance machine to start with. I picked up my MXT 1 month after I started detecting and it will quickly help you start making good finds even with little experience or technical know-how. Read the manual first if you have one. Just put it in coin/jewelry mode to start out, pump the coil a few times to ground balance and set the disc and sens to the pre sets, threshold at a slight hum and you're ready to go. You'll quickly sort out any confusion you may have on the basics and soon you'll understand and be comfortable making adjustments to suit particular hunts. Pick up " The MXT Edge" by Jeff Foster, [ Larry(IL) on the forum should have them at a good price ] it's a treasure trove of info on this machine. Before you know it you'll be looking for more coils ( coil selection is one of this machine's strongest points) to add to this units firepower. Lastly, keep reading this forum, there's a lot of good experienced people on here that are willing to share decades of hard won experience and knowledge. The advice and encouragement they offer is priceless, listen to them. Hope that helps and good luck.

Hey Scott....thanks for the advice. I try getting out once a week to the beach to practice and im actually getting a hang of it. I wanted to hit up some parks but didn't know if it's leagal to hunt at the park. I'll he happy if I can find just one silver coin. That's my goal and so far it seems impossible to find one at the beach. I got many more years to go so I'll find it sooner or later. Well just wanted to say to every body.....good luck on your next hunt.
