My 12 year old son went with me today and he was using a Nikon 4300. He's actually doing pretty well so far.
This was a tough shot with all the light coming in through the window. All in all it didn't turn out too bad.

This is a shot of the water tower. I think he nailed it better than I did.

This is a shot of the 1867 baseball game that I wish I had taken. Notice that the umpire (the gentleman in the derby) is off to the side. Also, the catcher has neither mask, nor glove. We were even told that he didn't wear a cup either!

Oh yeah, this is me. I'm probably busy messing up another photograph.

It is obivious that the window was ment to be that bright because he pulled the curtaims over to one side. Then the window frame falls on the (locker?) and then cascades onto the floor and under the dresser. It also is reflected in the lower front of the chest of drawers and in the mirror on top of the chest of drawers.
All of this light bouncing around gives a warm and cozy feel to the room. It has a lived-in feel. It is a room I wouldn't mind being in.
I really like this picture,

If I get time I'll post some of his "failed" photos. Although most of his photos don't look very good it amazes me at what he was trying to do with the photos. He has a great eye for interesting shots and he is not afraid to fill up a memory card or waste batteries either. So after almost every outing we go on he has a few shots that impress me.

It was in a museum and he shot it through a viewing window. But I agree with you, it's a nice picture and I really like it too.
