Well, I was fortunate enough to get out today and hunt for a bit. Even luckier to have found a few items.
1st I went to an old swimming hole area that has produced before and I found a buckle and NY subway token. Not sure how old this one is, but my guess is pretty old. Not even sure what it is made of (prob copper) as the sound was good but the #'s said no. I dug anyway and thought I may have dug a really poor 3 cent piece, but no such luck. Nice to have found this item as it could have easily been garbage.
Then I went to a well hunted park and met up with my brother who uses a whites....MXT I think. As soon as he got there I found the 45 quarter at ~ 8". How interesting that I just complained about this today. Again wish it were flowing, seated, walking or a Morgan but am very happy just the same. Thats just the way life is; you always want more!
The next good one was a deep dime ; ~ 7 inches. I asked my brother to check the signal and what I expected occurred. He could not even her it. After changing his settings he did produce a signal. At this point I still had no idea what was in the groud. Easy digs here allowed to to pull the whole piece out and at the very bottom, the lady was staring up. My brother LOVES coins and has for years. He was amazed when he watched it come out as I hadn't cut the plug when he got there.
I also dug this old Canadian cent and another deep buckle. Came up like a quarter and LC...and pretty deep. I was hopeful but it was not to be. I almost gave up on this one as I was so deep, I just about figured somethin was up. If I had to guess, I'd say this big one was nearly a foot deep. I know nothing about these except that certain varieties are quite collectible. If anyone has any info. this is always appreciated.
Thanks for looking. HH
