A few more recent finds, And another silver coin modified into a button

Old California

New member
Here are some recent finds from three different areas, The first location was with a couple of friends at an old area which had allot of traffic between 1820-1870's. Mostly buttons have been surfacing but they are old ones.

Starting off with the first picture below are my better finds from the 1820-30 adobe site, Luckily the 1808 1 Franc popped up almost at the end of the hunt.

Next, Bagged a very worn 2-cent piece from a ferry crossing location. Kind of surprised this surfaced as I really was going after gold jewelry and coins then out pops a worn 2-cent piece. The area is know to give up a relic or two once in a while and since it's now mostly used for swimming purposes is a great location of finding gold jewelry, Whatever the outcome may be at this particular site something cool almost always surfaces.

And last, My third hunt within a three week period another silver coin modified into a button surfaces. This one is an 1869 seated 1/2 dime, That makes two silver coin button finds the past month.

The holiday month of November kind of put an anchor on my metal detecting but with luck each of the three trips out some neat stuff did surface.

Thanks for looking and happy holidays,
Paul (Ca)

Thank you coenwolf,

I've greatly reduced my metal detecting allot the past several months, Luckily each time I do detect my something good surfaces.

Next year should be an outstanding year for us, We've got some good sites lined up for our T-2's and F-75 detectors.

Thanks again,
Paul (Ca)
