I was in a park located on the shoreline Monday trying to squeak another old coin from the salty ground. The last time I detected this area I got both a Barber dime and a "merc". This time using salt compensate AND correlate trying to coax a signal. The last time I left it in best data but there is plenty of iron to use correlate and this time I turned TX boost on. This fused pair was not a great signal yet there were enough 65's popping up as I did a 360 around the target seeing if I could get it to repeat. My TX boost was 10, all metal 76, disc at 92 using the D2 coil.
I accidentally dropped the fused IH & wheat cent and that revealed the date of 1904 on the IH, the Lincoln is a 1919. The other targets came yesterday from another park well inland where I found the WLiberty 1/2 and SL quarter last week. Steep wooded hillsides littered with beer cans and liquor bottles. I tried the D2 and did well but it's got a much heavier feel than the SEF. The balance of the SEF allows me to swing it all day. A couple of silver Roosies at 3" were located with the key and medal or pendant.
I eyeballed the 16x32 Bushnell binoculars amongst a pile of beer cans and today I was detecting the area again and found the case. You can only imagine what they were up to.
