A few more keepers from bullet hill and the surrounding woods

Tuesday I went back to bullet hill to search the woods and did pretty good. I found 1 more fired 3ringer for #58. I found 3 Indians, (1888,1889,1903), 2 wheaties (1919s,1914), and my first Barber Quarter. When I found the Barber it was totally encrusted with crap. It looked like it was in a fire and just looked like a metal disc. Truthfully I almost threw it away as junk. I attempted some cleaning processes with no success, so I decided to try my hand at electrolysis. It worked pretty good. The Barber ended up being a good one. (1909 o) 712,000 minted. According to my monthly coin magazine subscription which has a price guide in it monthly ( I know some of you live by the Redbook, but this is current pricing) in "about good" condition its worth $25, I feel its probably in a little better condition than that. All in all, it was a successful hunt and I got to delve into a new method of cleaning finds that are all crusty. If you haven't tried electrolysis, I'd say give it a try. Its actually a remarkable process.

Congratulations on all of the great finds Nathan. It sounds like you have a place to hunt for the next few years......

Nice place to detect without damaging the lawn during the dry season, keep up the good finds.
