A Few More Hours Out With The Gold Bug Pro/5 x 10 DD Coil

I hit the sports fields this morning at 6:30, but was forced to cut the hunt short when the temperature hit close to 90 degrees around 11:00 o'clock. I decided to dig only targets that had an ID number between 50 - 58 and above 80. I only varied from that just a few times. I was looking hard for a gold ring, but no luck today. The silver ring hit at 81 and was about 3 inches deep. I pretty much knew it was a silver ring even before I dug. The silver earring hit at 55. I guess I'm going to have to start digging everything when targets start to dry up. When that happens I'll be using my Bandido II uMax. It will pinpoint on a dime. Right now I have plenty to dig and can be selective. 41 pieces of trash, 34 coins and 2 pieces of silver jewelry. That's a lot of digging. My broken arm is getting better and I'm getting back in condition.

I'm beginning to like my Gold Bug Pro better than my Omega.:)

That's what I like to do this time of year and on through the summer. Right now, however, we're having a rather cool and blah Memorial Day Weekend. Just after 12:30 I noticed it had warmed up to a partly overcast 63

Looks like you had a pretty good hunt. I hunt almost like you do, anything between 53 and 58 and over 80, my wedding band hits at 53.....Good luck and HH.......

Nice finds tabman, congrats on a good hunt

you did good , looks like that spot is full of good targets,

I got up extra early today to do a repeat of the prior two days. I should have stayed in bed. I got to the site and got all geared up with headphones, finds belt, water holder, digging tool and ProPointer. Then I looked down and realized that I still had my house shoes on. I had to drive all the way back home to get my shoes. :ranting:

No silver today. That site has been hit hard. I did find a bunch of clad. The only thing left to do is dig every repeatable beep. I'm not going to do that until it cools off some.

So tell me Tabman, are you hitting good targets with the GB Pro that you don't think you'd hit with your Tesoro?

Can't say for sure. I do know that I'm covering a lot of ground fast with the 5 x 10 DD coil. I'm having a little trouble pinpointing using that coil. Not really bad, but my Bandido is a lot faster. The problem with a screen ID, it will talk you out of digging some really good targets. If I'm not cherry picking, I prefer my Tesoro detectors. I wish Tesoro had a 5 pin 5 x 10 DD coil to fit my Bandido.

Glad to hear you are liking that Gold bug with the 5x10 coil and yes, I preferred my G2 to my Omega as well:shocked:
