A Few Meager Ghost Town Diggings from Saturday

Well, once I had ascertained that there were no children down the bunny shaft, I could get down to a bit of detecting. I spent too much time hiking the area (I'm prone to explorer-itis, what's over this hill...) The iron and aluminum trash is so thick that I decided to just work the perimeter one sq. yard at a time, brought the magnet this time and a gallon of h2O. I couldn't BUY a coin (well, one 1976 dime), but did find a few things that I'm pleased with (yeah, I LIKE junk).
The little Lead soldier and the Tootsie Toys "Wedge Dragster", kid's monogram ring and the copper pin from yesterday, along with the ornate drawer pull are my favorites.I covered this ruin pretty well, will try another one next - old silver and gold FOR SURE, heh.

Very interesting finds...Those Tootsie Toy cars are quite collectible...Very strange mix of items...

HH,

Well, strange is my middle name.
I think this is another site that was originally home to a settler and later the mine bought him out - they provided housing for their workers. I could have filled about 10 giant dump trucks with mining related iron, and there were a few other collapsed outbuildings - a root cellar, etc. A fun place to detect whether I find anything or not - didn't see anyone all the time I was up there..
