The Barnacle.

New member
just playing with a new camera so sorry the pics are not up to scratch - the chain and pendent is about 20g 18ct. the seal ring is 27g 18ct and dates to the 1800's it has a coat of arms on with what looks like eagles around - the diamond ring came from under a pier after a storm i think the diamond is about 1/2 ct its a modern ring from the 1960's..

Can't really tell on my screen but what K is the diamond set in and does it have 4 or 6 prongs? From where I sit it looks to be more than a half carat. More like one or better. At any rate, you really had a great day. Sure wish I would have one of those days. Seems like a long time ago. Thanks and btw, your
first two photos look really good. The diamond looks a little out of focus, hence my question about the prongs. Keep em coming.

I think this Pirate will run out of space before he can show us it all, John. This here is one experienced Looter! He could be the kewlest conman too but I highly doubt that. I'd say he's legit!
Once Again, Barnacle; some Extremely Nice Loot, you do us all proud.

Thanks for Sharing,

BDA:cool:

thanks mate - its all legit, will show more but not posting anymore on this site had a private message off a chap and dont like what he said so it may be goodbye from the barnacle but if you want to keep in tough would do by email. over and out.

The Green-eyed monster rears its' ugly head, again. I think it's hard for some hunters to imagine finding this much loot. I'm sorry you feel you have to go, Barnacle. Your experience is a loss to all of us. Send me a PM with your e-mail and I'll keep in touch. You are not the first experienced hunter to leave this site that I now stay in contact with through private e-mail.

Kindest Regards,

If I'd let feelings get in the way, I would never have posted here to start with.

Initially, I thought this bunch to be cold and clickish, but I have learned that the MAJORITY are really good, down-to-earth folks that have a legitimate interest in furthering the cause of metal detecting...and like yourself, are very serious plunderers as well.

Anytime you are successful at what you do, especially metal detecting, there will be those who will be jealous and will (without merit) question your personal integrity. They only show their true colors when they do so and I say, "spit in their eye, mate" and continue to march down the lane!

Think about it and remember that one or two overbearing bad apples should not spoil the pleasure for the rest of us.

But...if you see a need to leave, I would appreciate a PM so that I can keep in touch with you, as well.

Don't let one person ruin a good thing. Most of us are envious, of course, but once in a while we have something to post, too. I'd love to find something from an old wreck, heck, I'm one myself!

I agree with nanwate7. I would love to know who and what they said that would make you want to leave. I come and go. I post once in a while but mostly just read and look at the great photos and I've never had anybody say an unkind thing to me. In fact, when I first came here I was made to feel really good about being here and soon was having telephone conversations with one of the members. For anyone to say or do something to make you want to leave with no reason is totally unsat. It would reflect badly on all of us, imo, if we just let you go without a better explanation. I would love to know the details about this and like some others, if you would come in once in a while and send me a pm I would be happy to stay in touch. Happy hunting to you and thanks for sharing your finds. I hope the diamond ring in the photo is genuine and as big as I think it is. Best of luck.
Jerry
