Gary, did you say you are using the Canon Powershot IS2? What camera did you have before, and how long have you been shooting with the Canon?

Did the Canon take a long time to learn how to shoot in macro?

Yhose are some very detailed photos you have posted.

I have the Canon SII. I have been using it since this spring. Before I got the Canon I was using Kodak.

The Canon is easy to use but the manual is not that great.

I aways shoot in the (P) Program mode. Never in the Auto mode.

On the Canon they have two Macro modes. Macro and Super Macro mode. In the (program) mode press the Macro switch for Macro, Hold the macro switch and Super Macro will come up. On a Canon all you have to do in look through view finder press down on the picture taking switch 1/2 until the box inside the viewfinder turns green then snap picture. Make sure that the subject you want to take a picture of is inside the box. If the box does not turn green then you are to close or to far from the subject. In Super Macro the len could even touch the subject and the camera will still focus.

The camera comes with a good program to manipulate the pictures. Remember there is no (do it all) programs. I have the biggest named programs but I keep coming back and using Paint Shop Pro.

I hope this helps.
