A few hours at the beach

I got up early this morning and drove 31 miles to the beach. Only to discover that I had left my battery for the Excal Ii at home. So 62 miles later I was back at the beach with an operating detector.

Tide was close to high so I worked the dry sand most of the morning. Dug the normal assortment of trash, pull tabs, bottle caps and tent pegs.

I got $8.05 in clad and the usual hand full of lincolns/zincolns. I did find one ring. It is marked P4 SR. I had to do some research to discover that P4 is a combination of four metals. Platinum, Gold, Palladium and silver. I will have to check with a jeweler to see if it has any value.

Now that's different. I would bet you got something of value there, at least lets hope so after having to do the trip twice....that eight bucks might help a little towards some gas, but that ring might just save the day. Very nice..... WTG:clapping:

Unfortunately, P4 SR has little to no resale value. That ring probably sold for around a hundred bucks new. Do a little shopping on a particular auction site and you'll see what I mean. Sorry! It's still a ring though! I am seeing that exact same ring on the auction site for 65 bucks "buy it now"

I did not think it was worth much as it had an obvious CZ for the stone. But I thought that it was a neat find as I had never seen one posted.

I didn't know about that kind of alloy either until very recently. Crazy, the junk they come up with to "keep jewelry affordable!"

I also wondered how one would determine value. But I do not have to worry about that. My wife said "I like that" "And it fits"

I talked to a Gentleman who worked a few years in the Jewelry business and he had never heard of the P4 alloy.

Good haul there George! That ring would make my day. I'm sure that it made yours! Best of luck and...

All I got at the beach in Ramsgate, England was some garbage....
The lifeguards warned me that the beach was already hunted down by locals.
It was the only chance I had to detect during my latest trip to England...
I would have liked to hunt a field near a hotel on Old Folkstone Road, which looked interesting, and eaten up by sheep...
My 12th sense says there's something good buried under that field.
Hint. Hint.

Nice ring! Bummer on the battery situation. But hey in the end you found a cool ring! Better than my day at work with clients lying, arguing and committing fraud. Glad it is Friday!

Nice beach finds!
