A few good targets among the trash

Tonight I revisited a homesite that gave up a few Wheats and a silver Rosie on the first hunt. Set up a "trashy park" program with a lot of notching since there's a lot of can slaw present:

12 khz
Reac 3
Silencer -1
Full tones
TX 2
Disc 2.0
Sens 80
Notch 00-48
56-78
97-99
Manual GB 85
Grd Notch 85-90

Didn't feel like digging a lot of aluminum tonight but got plenty regardless! I only found coins in the last 45 minutes of the hunt, and called it around midnight for a total of only 2.5 hours!!! With this low sensitivity setting I dug the crusty Merc from 5" and both Wheats came from 3-4" - all three signals were plenty strong enough, registering 1/3 to 1/2 down the horseshoe, respectively. I tried using Reactivity 2 in a cleaner area of the lot, but there were simply no targets present...got tired of the silence and came back to the trashy areas which gave up the coins!!!

That sounds like a nice program for the site--do you find yourself re-checking for possible silver in 4K?

Looks like the persistence paid off! Sometimes it's nice to give the ears a little break and wander into some clean ground. But you are right, the goodies seem to hide amidst the trash. Good job on the merc. I haven't dug silver in a few hunts, it's nice to know it exists!

Sometimes I do but it really depends on the audio quality of the signal. In aluminum-rich trashy areas a nearby piece of slaw will throw off the VDIs much more often than a piece of iron. Don't check the screen on every target - mainly "dig by audio". Deus really loves the round and roundish objects no matter what the composition!!!

Nice going! You just amaze me with your night hunts.
