I went back to an old school which dates to around 1900 which I am sure has been pounded many times before. Thing is if you go slow and easy you'll always find more. The V nickel is a 1905, the sound and numbers were horrible but I usually dig ANYTHING iffy. There was a couple of war nickels hiding as well as an Indian head and a button. The ring had me baffled, I knew it was a kids premium but didn't recognize the logo. My ring book at home confirmed it as a Tom Mix magnet ring from the 1940's (Ralston Cereal) . I had never heard of the Cowboy before, then again I am only 51. Happy Hunting!

Tom Mix was a pall bearer at Wyatt Earp's funeral in 1929. He is an early Movie Western Star.
