Old man winter has been keeping me in so I took an opportunity to take some photos of some finds from my last hunt.

What's the year on that Large cent?

That's my oldest US coin to date. 1798 :clapping:

Awesome find on the large cent!
Not too many of those here in central California.

Not too many here in Idaho either :yikes:

Anyone know anything about musket balls? Not sure the diameter but they all weigh between 13.77g and 13.80g.

Haha! I saw that. The first thing I did was weigh them. But they weighed less than the British ones they found.

I hope that when I go back I can find a flint too. All of these were found within 4 feet of each other.

The show diggers touched on that last night.

They mentioned that if it weighed 13-14 , closer to 14 grams it was revolutionary war era..
Yours weighs the same as theirs did, nearly..

Major Congrats On The LC:clapping: WOW:surprised:

Do you know what that disc item is? I found a similiar one awhile ago ab=nd like yours was broken and did not know what it was.

Regards

Neslot- not sure what the flint would TID as. Probably have to hunt open pattern for a bit and dig all the small sounding stuff. If I find one I'll pat the TID.

Sonny- I'll have to re-watch that episode!

Banditicey- thanks! The disc object is actually the inner workings of a pocket watch.

I have to retract my statement on the musket ball weights..
They actually said between 32-33g...
The one they weighed on the show weighed 33.9g..
The historian verified that they were Rev Era musket balls.
I went back and re-watched it..
Yours are still excellent finds..HH..
