A few finds today

Not a bad day for late November. A friend and I found a cellar hole way on top of a rolling pasture. The site overlooked it and you could see into the next state, what a place to build a house. The CW buckle gave a trashy signal and a VDI of 24, but I dug anyway as I dig nearly any decent signal in a field. Other places, I might not have dug it but I was surprised when it popped up. It's missing a few pieces and part of it is broken, but I like it just the same. Also got the big crotal bell, a brass button, small tack buckle and a bigger pewter button. I like the machined backs on the pewter buttons. Ron

Looks like a good day to me. I really like the buckle, and that bell is very cool!

You say you are in Va. I grew up in Southampton County Va. About 1 hour from Petersburg, and Norfolk. Lot of good relic hunting around that area. Where abouts are you, Beale.

Not as nice as the one you found, but I did find out it was a New York Militia buckle..of course missing the other half. Ron

Beale, I live in New Hampshire, born and raised here. I wish I lived in Virginia, I met my wife in Blacksburg..very nice country down there. Ron

Sorry about that I must have read the post wrong. Yea Va has a bunch of CW relics in the ground. I remember as a kid finding mini and musket balls. We use to use them for slingshot ammo! Man I wish I could go back and get those!

If you are ever coming down to Va let me know. My folks live up there, and my dad has a bunch of farm land. Could be something out in the pastures or woods, Beale.
