A few finds on 6-10-2010

I was out for about an hour but I think my actual hunting time was about 45 min. I found ....

2 pennies (oldest was a 1982)
2 Dimes (oldest 1983)
1 part of a pull tab
1 pin of some kind not sure if it is called a hairpin or cotter pin, one of those things I've seen used to hold mower decks in place on riding mowers or other similar types of things but never really knew what i was called for sure. the pin is about as long as my index finger so it's a pretty decent size.

Here's a link to the pic I took of my finds ....

I had several kids trying to shadow me so I didn't stay long .... school is out for the summer here so I'm starting to consider different sites until fall just to dodge kids.

I was always called those pins 'keepers". They keep hitch pins and the like from bouncing out.

Keepers. haha

I like that name for the pin ... just hope other people understand it if I ever have to buy one :)

I wonder what fell off when that "keeper" pulled out?? Aren't those Rosies always fun to find? Found a '60 rosie in neighbors yard last week! Keep hunting. Bigsquid55
