A diggers dream

I have never posted on the Civil war forum before, but it reminds me of a guy I met years ago in Athens Ohio. He was a good friend of... a dear friend of mine, they went to college together at O.U. This fellows name came up in a conversation I had with my good friend, and I was saddened to hear his health was failing ...He had Lou Gehrigs disease. I contacted him via Email and he was upbeat, said he remembered me ...which made me feel good. We discussed metal detecting, and he talked about his civil war finds, and how a friend had just called him about a virgin c.w. site in Tennessee. He said he was saddened to hear about our mutual friend who has systemic sclyrosis, but not once mentioning his own health. Not only was this fellow a genuinely nice guy, but also a very talented musician, went to many civil war shows. I think anyone reading this post can get to know him in a way through a video that you can find on you tube " A DIGGERS DREAM" His name is Phillip Ley and what I know of Phil is he would want you to enjoy the video, incorporating three of his passions, music...Civil War...and Metal detecting.I wish that I could of spent some time with him relic hunting, and catching up on the years... But it was not to be, Phil passed this past August, some of you on here may know Phil, If you do... you are fortunate. I myself do not know how topost You Tube videos on here...but if any of you do please post "A Diggers Dream" I,m sure Phil would want you to enjoy it. Thanks, Bookemdano
