A Different Kind of Treasure

While out camping, I spotted a beautiful fungi on a stump. I was pretty sure it was Chicken of the Woods and our good friend Steve McLucky confirmed it for me. Thanks Steve. :clapping: After the harvesting cleaning and vacuum sealed , I got a little over two pounds of this wonderful mushroom for that special treat stocked in my freezer. :wiggle: Happy Hunting, Even if it is for a fall mushroom.

Don't think I have ever tried that. Does it taste like morel mushrooms?

No they don't taste like Morels but I think they taste woodsy. Honestly I've not had them in years and my memory fails me. Maybe someone else can answer your question.

Nothing tastes like a morel... They are a real meaty mushroom, more like a portobello.

A spice of life, good eye.
