A Deep Button with a Gemstone

I did not get out this weekend, but last week I had the opportunity to get back to my fields that are now "hunted out". Signals are sparse, and in retrospect it may have been a good opportunity to try the Transmit Boost feature, which I have not used much. My only good signals were part of a colonial shoe buckle (with a stamped name on it which I cannot make out), and this unusual button which has a gemstone (or glass) in the middle. The backmark says GILT on top, but I am unable to read the bottom mark. It may be a design. The button gave a signal almost like a deep nail, reading 7 inches, but it was actually nearly 10 inches down.

I have noticed that the depth reading rarely reads over 7 inches even when the target is considerable deeper. And yes, I do have the coil size selected!

I cannot wait until I get the SEF coil I ordered this weekend. It is a great site to give it a try at.

That is an unusual button Neil, I hope you find out more about it.
