A day at the park...

I hunted an abandoned park in the woods today and it was like a swamp..4 wheaties, 3 silver roosies, and 2 mercs...These mercs have to be two of the deepest silver dimes I ever dug and had to be over a foot deep. Couldn't even get them to repeat without first digging a partial plug. Surely the wet conditions helped but my CZ7A has to be the deepest unit I ever used..

GREAT JOB, DAN!!! I've hunted a few parks with those swampy conditions myself. Did those targets id as coins with a solid high tone, or did you get a mixed id, with multiple tones? Rookie CZ User needs to know! I know you'll respond to this, so I'm going to "Thank You" NOW, and say go back to that swampy park and get some more. HH, NamVetLesTreasureSeeker

Dan,
I love to hear about your hunts. I wish you would/could post pics of the finds. What kind of soil do you have? I haven't found anything deeper than 7" in our WV clay. I just wonder if there's not much stuff deeper or I just don't know what I'm doing on the deeper coins. I know I haven't dug many beeps that I can't pinpoint. I would have to get the shovel out of the car for those deeper ones. <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol"> It would take a while to dig a 10"+ hole with most diggers.

Wish I could post some pictures and wife has just bought a camera set so perhaps in near future..All hits came in coins all and did hit a lot of iron so would feel lots of the park equipment is under ground. I have found if I get a one way signal and it registers 10 inches and sounds good, I dig a several inch plug and then get a 2 way signal its a go. In reallity with a small lesche digger with roots and rocks perhaps next time will take a larger shovel as one does not have to be neat although I always fill my holes..I saw some surveyor flags so if they start to bulldoze going to be a lot of silver coins to be had..Doesn't hurt to plan ahead...
