a couple questions about the X-Terra 50, Its features and performance?

The pinpoint button. Do you have to keep it pressed in or is it a momentary press button?

I know that depth varies so much between air test and ground test. But I was wondering how you people are doing on depth on coins. Are you happy with the detection depth of the X50?

Target separation and recovery speed. How does the Xterra 50 perform at these tasks?

Notch disc. Once you accept or reject a vdi # with the acc/rej button. How do you find that number again? With a scroll menu button or do you have to wait to sweep that target under the coil to see that number again?

Thank you very much for any answers

because it is too stormy and wet and windy to be out USING the X-Terra 50 right now. :(

"The pinpoint button. Do you have to keep it pressed in or is it a momentary press button?"... No, you press it and release it. That shifts you into the Pinpoint mode. If you have a target that you want to narrow down a bit when pinpointing, you simply move the coil part-way over the target .. STOP .. and press the PP to detune. The X-terra 50 has an excellent PP mode!

"I know that depth varies so much between air test and ground test. But I was wondering how you people are doing on depth on coins. Are you happy with the detection depth of the X50?"... I am very pleased with the depth of detection on coins and similar-sized targets. I've been getting decent hits on coins and jewelry in the 6"-9" range for my deeper targets that I have swept the coil over so far.

"Target separation and recovery speed. How does the Xterra 50 perform at these tasks?"... Quite good! The standard coil is a 9" concentric design, but the field performance is still quite impressive. It has a quick response and recovery and I am able to get hits on targets in some trashy conditions that require a 6"-7" coil on some competitor's models. I sure hope to see a smaller coil by spring, but until then I am very pleased with the performance.

"Notch disc. Once you accept or reject a vdi # with the acc/rej button. How do you find that number again? With a scroll menu button or do you have to wait to sweep that target under the coil to see that number again?"... You have two (2) 'pattern' modes or discrimination programming modes that you can tailor to your desires. You can sweep over a target and then reject it, or you can scroll through the 18 segments and Accept or Reject any of them at your will. It is quite fast and easy to work with the discrimination segments.

Hit either the - or + button and you will be taken to the number 18. From there you can scroll to find your rejected number, all rejected numbers will have a "X" on it's right side. HH
