Went out for a couple of minutes this afternoon, and got a couple of pieces of silver for my effort. The ring is .925. The etched inner ring turns around the outer ring base. Dont know why, but this camera has never focused correctly. Sorry for the blur.

I have never seen a ring that had an inter part that rotated...really interesting. Thanks for sharing, and please have a great day! Kelley (Texas) <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

RS...
I found a ring just like the one you found with the part that turns in the middle. I was wearing it for a while but found myself spinning it most of the day. Had to take the dang thing off. Too much nervous energy.
Gonna try to find it to see if it was identical to yours. My favorite silver ring.

Nice finds RS. I like finding silver rings. In fact, of the 100's of rings I've found since I got my first detector in 1969 my favorite ring find is silver.<center><img src="http://jb-ms.com/images/Jewelry/favoritering.jpg" border="1"></center>
It's a homemade ring found at an old homesite several years ago with a <font face="Lucida Sans, monospace"><i>"shudder"</i></font> Garrett. The most expensive ring I've found was appraised at over $1,500 but I'll wager whoever lost that one wasn't any more proud of it than whoever made the silver ring was of it.

Where have you found most of your rings? Are you a beach hunter, or do you find them in grassy areas? I usually only find rings in parks or ballfields. This last ring was another one of those..."well, I guess I'll head back to the car" finds. Found it half way back to the car, when it was almost completely dark.

I've hunted freshwater beaches in this area, on the Tenn-Tom Waterway and a few parks that have swimming areas, and the beaches at Sandestin, FL when on vacation but the marjority of my jewelry finds have been at athletic fields, playgrounds, schools and a few at parks. I probably find 25 or 30, or more, junk jewelry items for every good piece, and dig a lot of low conductive trash, but so far have found enough good stuff to keep me doing it. If I had a dime for every pencil eraser band I've dug I would be as rich as the Mayor <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">. Seriously, I do dig a lot of junk but I think most of us who started detecting before George Payne invented discrimination tend to use less discrimination, and dig more trash, than those who started detecting after detectors with discrimination became available.

These were found many years ago using a Tesoro Deep Search IV metal detector. I did not find them all at one time...two were found at a park and one at a school around 1986. I have found lots of rings over the years, most of them silver, but a few were gold. The picture of your ring brought back lots of memories, so I went to a cigar box kept in the closet that is full of things I have found and took this picture. I have found more junk rings than good rings, but they are just as much fun when you find one. Please have a great day! Since then the units were basically AM we learned to listen to the shape of the target, I find I can hear the signal well enuff, with any type of coil I can come pretty close with out using a pinpoint circuit. Maybe I check a target too more then most, moving around it making a decision based on what I hear.....Geo

Some nice silver, Rentasquid
for some reason the silver rings always look better than than the gold.
speaking of gold, thanks again for the tip on the Golden. <img src="/metal/html/grin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":grin">

Those are very nice looking rings! Is that turquois inlay on them? Its funny how you kinda find things in spurts. This is the third ring that I've found in the past three weeks. It had been a while since I'd found one before the latest streak.

I hope you like it! I know that I really enjoy my Pantera(although I wish it hunted a little deeper), and it is forefather of your Golden. I like the tones, and I think that can give you just as much info as the display sometimes. Be patient with it though, 'cause it is a lot different than the Cortes. I know your BH had tones too, but these tones are much richer, and tell you more than the BH tones ever told me.
Best wishes,
J.

The photo posted does not do them justice, they are neat rings. Please have a great day! Kelley (Texas) <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">
