A couple of relics you may enjoy.

Here are a couple of relics/artifacts I dug up near the Susquehanna River in N.E. Penna. Fortunately for me, the flint spear point was right in line
when I was digging the signal that the solid oar lock was giving off, otherwise no signal from flint. How lucky can a guy get? The rusty "blade" object
is made of some type of iron and I was told that it may have been some kind of skin/hide scraper. Any ideas would be welcome. Take care. Dave.

Dave, those are great finds. They find stuff like that is some of the fields up this way. Im in Binghamton, NY very close (under 5 miles) from the Pa. border, and two miles from the Susquehanna River. It is a mighty river. Early on, coming from a busy big city, when I could of gone anywhere with my career I settled on the Susquehanna. There was just no denying its natural appeal and mystique. The only thing is the soil up here can be quite hard on old coins. The most recent debate here rages on over gas drilling and fracking, etc. If you're ever comin up to the area let me know ahead, maybe we can till the soil a bit. Curt

Thanks for the invite Curt. Maybe after we get through this winter we can do some digging. I have a brother-in-law living in Binghamton. Dave.

Merry Christmas. When I was a boy, 65 yrs. ago,, I lived in rural Owego. My dad found large pennies laying in a ditch close to our house. Arrowheads were common in the fields across from our home. Unfortunately, he left the coins at the homestead when we moved.
