I went back to a place I found last weekend. We passed by this site on the trail to a tavern foundation, which we never found. The compact case is silver plated and the watch surround doesn't appear to be gold, probably plated also. I like this kind of stuff almost more than coins because of the detail and workmanship they applied to things back then. I would guess these date to the early 1900's.
The site was one of the trashiest places I have been to in years. It was used as a party spot and the people who lived there threw things everywhere. The cellar holes look to be late 1800's but must have been used through the mid 1900's judging by the tin cans. Ron
