A couple of my old favorites from a seaside coast

Taken at Rockport Mass, one of my favorite places. One was at dawn, the other was a normal sea photo that I filtered to widen it....kinda weird but I liked the way it came out like it's bursting through the screen....my wife doesn't like that one...it makes her dizzy.

love the photos.... looks like such a neat place to go. either place would be great to just set up a hammock and relax (if the weather was right) good job!!

I love the second picture. You captured the fog in a beautiful stage. I'm with your wife on the first one. It's pretty busy. :surrender:

Dave, I really like the second picture, beautiful. The first picture is interesting, never seen one like it before. Thanks for sharing. :clapping: Kelley (Texas) :)

I also like the second one, but both are great. It almost makes you feel damp when looking at it......

From Rockport. Been there hundreds of times. Famous for it Quarries. In its day, Stone blocks were shipped all over the U.S. Almost every residence has Stone foundations, walls etc. When you visit again, drive down all the " hidden" streets. Some look like Private Drives. There are so many great spots to visit off the main drag. I enjoy seeing the protected Harbors etc. At the City Dock, you should look into visiting Thatchers Island. there is a private Foundation, which have a Launch to bring visitors to the Island, but limited seating per trip.
There is also an old Life Station which still exists, but a private residence. Great photo shoot from the rocks...
Also Visit Annisquam, very similar, many nooks and crannies to see, along with Annisquam Lighthouse. Don't worry about driving down what appears as private roads... Your missing a lot!
The red building looks like "Motif 1". ? Most "painted" building in the U.S. For artists, professional and amateur. It is not the original building, it was wahed away during the Blizzard of 1978. It was rebuilt due to its tourist attraction!!
If you were able to take a boat ride around Rockport, you would see mountains of cut granite blocks, but never shipped anywhere...

Two more excellent photos........showed the first one to my wife who is also a keen photographer and her response was "WOW".Second photo also great.....the lighting is superb,so is the subject and composition.

Thanks Ron.....I'll look into those things you mentioned. Yes I knew about the original Motif 1 being gone....I've seen the original. I hear also that from Rockport the first transatlantic cable was laid or was attempted. It's hard to get my wife away from the shops when we go but we'll try to see some of these things. -Dave
