Not sure where to put this and feel free to delete or move if need be,

I know this is a detecting forum but also know that you all are great people here and am sure many of you have children. I live in a small town where you never here of any major crimes. Last night two young Amish girls (6 and 12 years old) were abducted, the girls went to their food stand out by the road to sell some fruit or vegetables to a car that stopped by and whoever it was or they were grabbed the kids and put them in the vehicle and took off with them. There are several police, rescue, Amish and English people searching. I still can't believe this has happened, it is only about 4 or 5 miles as a crow flies from my house. Help me in wishing them a safe and speedy return. http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/amish-girls-disappearance-authorities-have-numerous-leads-n180431

SkiWhiz,
Would not have seen this post if it had not been posted where you posted it ... and it was moved by the time I got logged in!

I read of the missing girls earlier this evening and have said prayers. Will pray more. The Amish are hard working people committed to their neighborhoods and extended communities.

Spent a lot of time living in areas where, when driving, you always had to watch out coming over the crest of a hill because a buggy might be there. Bought a lot of fresh vegetables, honey, home made root beer and pies from Amish stands; even when I had plenty of vegetables from my own garden; could always can some! Where I lived about 15 to 20 years ago, my next door neighbor shoed horses for the local Amish and was trying to get an Amish teen to apprentice with him so that the Amish community could have one of their own shoe their horses.

Will be following the news on this one.

Prayers for the family and for the safety of the girls from my wife and myself. We have Amish who live close to us as well. They are peaceful and Godly people who add love to our community. I hope the perpetrators are aprehended before any harm is done.

They found the girls (alive) and the perps too...sounds like there was some pretty bad intent on the perps part...Lord be praised and have mercy on us..!
