1st one I don't have a clue? It's silver dollar sized, and the markings around the perimeter resemble as "S", no markings on reverse side.

2nd is a Pettibone Mfg. Co. button (marked on reverse, missing shank), and I "think" I may have it narrowed-down to 1880-1920, but if that were easy for someone familiar with buttons, I'd appreciate a confirmation, or correction.

Here's just a better pic I found on the 'net

Hey GGG, I think you might be on to something there! I looked on a site after reading your reply, (I'm adding it below for anyone elses reference) and though I didn't find an exact match, I did see enough similarities to make me think you're probably right. Thanks for the help!

Regarding the first item - what does the back look like? Is there a place where a shank was anchored? My first guess would have been colonial flat button. Here's one I just found:

Hi Erik. I just looked at it again, under a magnifying glass. I can't see any evidence of anything on the back that even hints to a shank ever being there. Would be cool if it were, that would make it my oldest find.

Thanks!

ETA: I just measured it, and it's exactly 1.5"
