A couple of hunts

Larry (IL)

Well-known member
I got some field hunting in yesterday, no coins but the area was old for sure. Three old buttons, a one piece, 2, two piece buttons and pistol ball is all I have to show for that hunt. The rest came from a yard hunt, six wheats, a flipping coin and a foreign coin of some sorts. The Tootsie Toys are always a fun find

Nice little display! Looks like spring is here. Now if someone would just tell mother nature.

That's a good assortment of finds. With buttons that old there ought to be a largie or two hiding out there.

I think there is more there to Andrew but I might have to wait for the field to be turned over again or at least try a different detector.

The ring might be from the Hartford Insurance Co. They use a stag as their symbol. The foreign coin is from Iran, late 1800's - early 1900's. Nice finds.

Thanks for the ID on the foreign coin Steve, I didn't understand a thing on it :spin: Yep, The Hartford Insurance Co. Junior Fire Marshal kids ring, (what's left of it) found many of them over the years.

Yep, rubber, the tail was sticking out of the ground near a memorial recovery. For those who might not recognize it, it is a casting (practice) weight that came on a childs fishing pole.

very good stuff Larry! nice work the junior fire marshal is pretty sweet as well.
