A Couple of Hunts This Week

ken-ks

New member
Got some cooler weather and some rain here last week so I hit the local fairgrounds/park. The Etrac just keeps pulling goods from there, even though I'd given up on it several years ago as hunted out. The spur is a first for me, never found one in all my years of detecting, it was deep, around 10" or more.
The merc with it is a 42, and the wheatie is a 52.

The merc in the second pic is a 44, and the wheatie is a 41, and not pictured is a wheatie that I've soaked that I can't get the crud off of to see the date.

It's supposed to only be 78 today, so I'm head'n out to a park/rodeo grounds in a town nearby, that last summer I found a indian head and a wheatie right before I had to leave because I needed to be at a family gathering, and the temp had gotten to 105. Hope'n that there's more goodies in that area to be found, the indian head and wheatie were both at about 10". Hope everyone gets some decent detecting weather and gets out this weekend, HH ken-ks

That spur sure looks suspiciously CW era. hmmm. I believe I would be digging all the deep signals regardless of sound and ID in that area. You might be surprised at what turns up.
