A couple of hour hunt with the F-75

I grabbed a couple of hours on saturday and hit a old home yard. I was running disc at 6, sensitivity 30, notches on foil, default process, 4h audio. The war nickel was lying in the ground at a 45 degree angle at about 5 1/2 inches. Most the wheats (and you can tell the soil around here HATES copper) were at the 4 to 6 inch range... all signals were loud and clear. I absolutely love this detector for old coin shooting... incredible machine!

Good on you. I've been VERY happy with how the F-75 responds to nickels and dimes. It certainly is everything I had hoped as a coin-shooter for parks and playgrounds.

I figure if I'm pulling nickels I'm also keeping a good net out for any gold rings that may be present. Heck, I like the nickels, too. :)

Same here, set up the F75 with the 3H tones yesterday. Forgot about it giving the high tone on nickels after settings it up. Got a solid high tone signal and a repeatable 30 VDI. I was really happy when I popped out that nickel. I really like being able to disc up to zinc and notch back in nickle....and it works great.

I actually got out for the first time in awhile too.....nothing worth posting really, but nice to swing finally.

most of my copper coins come out of the ground pretty nasty, unless they are woods finds. The soil down your way (been a while, but I've detected it), is actually a little tamer than mine. Try bumping the sens up a tad, or leave it low, and switch to Je mode. You'll get a full couple more inches at least on the coins in your area. Is it sandy where you are?? Streak!

Streak, no sand here, but plenty of red clay and red/brown clay mixes. The soil can change dramatically within a few yards... pretty interesting terrain. The reason for the low sensitivity is mainly experimental...
Thanks,
