A few recent keepers from my last couple of times running the Racer.
The "Tiffany" earring and 1945 cent came off a salt water beach in black and red sand. I suspect these washed out of the dunes. It's cleaning up ok and tests as .900 fine silver or better. The two dimes came from a nasty tangled mess of brush where I discovered silver coins bordering a school built in 1900. I've hit it a few times this year and it was the Racer's turn. I did use both large and small coils where I could. There is a part of an old gold plated cuff link from the brush tangle too.
The silver ring was a sweet find considering how little is coming out of that site of a former school. Rang up like a dime with smooth audio and steady VDI at 4".
The backing was still on the earring when I found it. I believe the bad appearance is the rhodium playing often used on sterling jewelry to give it more sparkle.
you can see the shiny spot from rubbing in the touchstone for acid testing.
This is the tangle and I'm getting snagged by thorns and my ankles are catching low vines.
a hunt site fit for a rabbit
The cool thing is the way this detector ferrets out more keepers next to junk, under junk and above junk. Going back to tired sites with a new attack tool
