A couple of days on the beach

I have a family trip coming up to Florida. I plan to get in at least one or two days of beach hunting. I just got the new 9 inch coil. Am I right in thinking it would be fun to try it on the beach? Seems like small gold and bad ground would make it a good choice. I have other beach machines but would love to at least try the Deus. Any tips or suggestions?

Get a light so you can detect at night. Fewer people, less heat.
Deus is great on dry sand. Wet sand a little chatter but workable.
Sand scoop and a pin pointer are your best friends. A mesh bottom find bag is preferable but I wouldn't buy one just for 2 days.
Cover your control box. Sand gets everywhere.
