Got back out before the rain came in. Made my 4th trip to the field that has been giving up the seateds. After about an hour the first coin out is silver, but is extremely worn and can't make out any details. Then about 10 feet I get a nice high tone and out pops a 1873 seated dime. Then I managed a shield nickel, 2 indians, and a 2 cent. The first dime turned out to be a 1835 bust. Tried to get a pic with at least part of the eagle, but really hard to do. The bust and 2 cent were both firsts for me.

Congrats on some more great finds ! You really have a honey hole for somr great old coins.

what a sweet field! your VERY lucky to have such a great field, in six yrs of hunting fields I have NEVER had one that gave up that much or even close to what your getting

I'd rent that field from the farmer for the summer....and just keep huntin', that spot! Not really, but you've got years of hunting there!

Thanks for the pictures.

Congrat's on the Firsts,

It's good to see that your research has paid off on that place. From what I have seen in your other posts, I would not be surprised if you find a gold coin at that place and I hope you do.... Dig everything that beeps at that place and I do not care how bad the numbers are or how bad it sounds, dig it....

Thank you. I do feel fortunate. I have never experienced anything like this field before. It as dumb luck to stumble upon it. Hope it keeps producing for a while. The farmer said he thinks beans are going in this summer, so the fall detecting hopefully will be a little easier.

Thank you. My detecting buddy and I have been kidding around about a gold coin, but really don't expect to find one. So far the only signals I have dug have been good signals or iffy signals with an occasional junk signal. I will take your advice and start digging more of the junk signals. Who knows, maybe there is one there. I know there are still plenty of old coins left, it is just hard to hundred since it is corn stalks right now. We are running out of time since they will be planting soon, but luckily I have built a very good relationship with the farmer and his wife and have an open invitatiion.
