A couple new finds today

First Barber Quarter!!! I was siked! She's a beauty too! Lots of detail and very minor wear! Had the 705 with 9 inch LF coil, Tracking, Disc 1 pattern, Sens at 27. Finally got the nerve to ask permission to cut thru someones yard to detect a large area of woods with a lot of old walking/cart paths including an old baseball field which I will start detecting soon. Found the coin on a old path. Was only about 2 inches deep. It rang up a strong steady 42. I thought it was gonna be clad since it was so shallow. I was surprised!!!! The ring was a little deeper. About 3 to 4 inch range bouncing 38-40 area. Haven't found to much since late April so this was a much welcomed find! Cant' wait to get back out there tomorrow. Spent close to 2 hrs there today. Also found a crusty 1895 V nickel and an 188? sumthing crusty Indian head. Also a handful of clad, nothing later than the very early 90's. HH All!!!!!!

Sweet!! Congratulations of the great finds!

For being your first, you could not of found a Barber quarter in better shape then that one. It looks like it just come out of the Mint. Congrat's

Nice find Emmet. Full Liberty and lots of luster....don't get much better than that. Congrats! HH Randy

Really, Really nice Emmett. Looks like you have a great spot to do some detecting.:clapping:
Although most Sterling Silver Jewelry up until the 1940s era was usually stamped “STERLING” or “STER” or “STG.” Some makers continue to use the “STERLING” mark in place of “925” even today, but I would bet given the old coins you are finding, that ring is an old one.

( Had the 705 with 9 inch LF coil)

Congrats on your finds, they look great. but many more thanks for telling us what you found them with,
I have the 705 and am considering the 9" concentric 3 kHz coil......., this helps !!!!

Thanks all for the kind words all! Your welcome Harry. I usually use the 3kHz when in the woods where there is little to no trash. It seems to work well with tracking on. I use it hoping it truly does have greater depth than the 7.5 so as to pop out a pine tree shilling someday! Lol. Ya never know whatcha gonna dig! Happy Hunting All
