A couple keepers form last weekend...

I hunted a farm house yard last weekend. It was slow going with only five wheat backs to show in the first few hours. Then I dug up the fire dept. pin. Twin Lakes Fire Dept has been gone for about ten years. Shortly after that I dug the 1872 IH - Man I hate it when they are holed, especially on a great date like this one. It is a little rough otherwise. Made my day though!
HH to all.

Nice finds !! That IH (minus the hole) is listed for between $90 and $100 in G-4.

Good hunting and good patience !

It registered about an eighth of an inch down from where late-date wheats hit.

The badge made me famous... sorta. I had just dug it up when the son came over. I handed it to him, and right away he thought it was very cool as was the hobby. He was very interested and asked a ton of questions. I offered the badge to him and the owner but both refused. This was a target that made the hobby look too easy.

Cool finds!
Just plug that hole in the indian with copper and grind the area real nice then put it back in the ground for another 100 years.
Maybe with the layer of corrosion it develops you won't be able to tell it's holed!
