A couple Easter morning finds.

Only had a couple hours to hunt before Easter Festivities so back to the old reliable city park I went. First good find was the 1898 indian head cent that was hiding near a chunk of iron. A while later I get a mixed signal, wasn't able to pinpoint because 2 targets were in close proximity. Dug the first target, a lousy rotting zinc penny. Was then able to pinpoint on the second deeper target and from about 6 inches down I pulled out the 1867 shield nickel. A pleasant surprise. I don't dig a lot of shield nickels and this was maybe the 10th one I've dug in 27 years. A quick shout out to Sgt. Claddy on digging his first silver coin today, a 1920-S mercury dime. Congratulations !

Love that shield nickel Ed ! Good stuff !!

That shield nickel is in great condition....really a tough coin to find, especially in that kind of condition! Congrats on the awesome digs.

Man ED that 5 cent piece is sweet :)

Nice job Ed! Good to see you can hunt again. Things are fine in Mass now also- I just had my non-swinging elbow operated on and need about another week before I can hunt. Do you and Tony want to consider a trip down at some point?? PM me!
