A comment about headphones

I had been using the Koss headphones that come with the Explorer II. I had read the comments of others on the subject of how Gray Ghosts, Timberwolves etc really produce better results than "less expensive" headphones. Well, I rolled some of my accumulated coins, cashed them in and invested in some more metal detecting gear including a set of the Gray Ghost. My first day out with the new headphones I revisited an "hunted out" area in the park. I pulled out two silver quarters and a silver dime. I can not believe that one set of headphones can make so much difference when compared to another type. You may want to consider this point.

But what would you say if that happened with new pare of walkman headphones for 10 bucks <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol">

We all have different hearing and some brands just work better on different units and imagine that has to be taken into consideration..Looks like they work well for you so stick with them..Over the years have tried many high priced detectors and earphones. For the last 6-7 years have used Calrads( about $25.00) and use them on everything I use and they work well for me so I am not about to change. They really do take a beating...matter of fact used the same pair for the entire time with of course a brand new pair as a backup.I am sure we all have our favorites and again whatever works..
