..I took this pic with the toy kids microscope I bought on e-bay for $25. It works pretty good on coins. Mainly the silver though. Not enough light for Indians. This was taken on 60X. It has 10X 60X and 200X. You can view your coin on your computer screen and take photos.
Anyway, it looks to me like the 1944 merc has a double punch date. Probaby doesn't make it any more valuable but still fun to find. [attachment 40945 1118062.jpg]

that occurs when the coin planchet "jitters" in the strike chamber as it gets struck, that makes the doubling appear to have a shelf, rather than have doubled details pressed into tha same level, as in a doubled die................:nerd:
