A Challenge

A Challenge coin that is. I went up to North Carolina last weekend so that my wife could visit with her sister. Brother in Law was there for a horse shoe pitching tournament. So I went metal detecting. Worked a city park for a while on Friday afternoon with a few pieces of clad for my efforts.

On Saturday I was given permission to detect the campground where their travel trailer was parked. One of my first few targets was a Military Challenge Coin. It is the third challenge coin that I have ever found. My first was From the Army Corp of Engineers, Second one was from the Air Force Academy and this one is from A Marine unit that was in Afghanistan. The camp ground was acres and acres of buried pull tabs, Cans, etc etc and Etc. Very difficult to detect. Managed to dig a few dollars in clad. I left with acres and acres of area that needed detecting.

Now I need to find Challenge Coins from the Navy and Coast Guard to give me all the branches of military service.
