A Buffalo w/a DATE! & what do you make of this Button?

Vacation hunts continue...

Its scheduled to rain, rain, and rain somemore today... I did manage about 60 minutes between the drops :) A key, '36 Buffalo, '20 and '4X Wheat... and some clad...

This is that little strip before the beach that I dug the barber, no date buffalo and about 6 wheats on Wednesday & Thursday...

This best looking part of this nickel is the date :p My 3rd buffalo and the only one with a clear date...

This read as a deep 8" 34/36 on my XT70 (Penny range) and when I saw the size and knew it was larger that a penny and got excited... Then I could see the outline of writing and was about to do the happy dance... then I felt and button back... no happy dance...

What do make of the Letter and Number 3 on a botton?

Because that is an Regiment of Artillerists 1811-1813 button, War of 1812. According to the A.H. Albert book page 51&52.

The #3 is the Third Regiment, 20mm diameter 15 or 20 rarity value, 19mm diam.2 rarity value..........Hombre
