We went to a couple of old parks today and, although I got my rear-end spanked, my wife did OK. She found her oldest coin to date - a 1907 British Halfpenny (in pretty bad shape but identifiable), and a nice .925 silver charm bracelet. Also a couple of Papua New Guinea coins and a collaspable mechanical pencil that doubles as a tie clip (I think). The ring is a kids ring which rang up as foil. The maple leaf appears to be a military insignia (Major or Lt. Commander, depending on the branch of service).
My wife remembers going to that park when she was a kid (family outings and church picnics) and it was helpful information to know where the original playground was. The equipment there now is on the other side of the park. She found the old halfpenny right where the old playground was. Without that info, that particular area would have been the last place I would have hit. She found the bracelet in the new section in the bark chips! She outdid me wherever we went today!
We soon got rained out, so had to cut it short. A nice day anyway and we'll definately have to go back to that park as we only got started before the clouds opened up.
Thanks for looking!
