I've had my Explorer XS for 9 months and in the last few weeks I have set my gain to 8 (always left at 6 before). I have found lead artefacts, and silver coins (some very small) at greater depths on a field I thought was hunted out.
Set at 8 the signals took some getting used too, but it really pays off! I will use at 8 for a while then go for 9 & 10 once my brain can distinguish what I am hearing.
For those of you new to the XS and struggling to understand what your XS is telling you, hang in there. Time will show what a great detector this really is.
