This way they have parts for the older CZ's as well as techs who can service them. Hopefully they continue to service the CZ's for awhile. They do take a licking and keep on ticking. Me like a dummy, had my CZ6a mounted on the shaft but the cable was not attached. I turned the assembly upside down to wrap the coil wire, and since the unit is pretty old, it fits pretty loosely on the mount. Well, the 6a it slipped off and fell about 3 feet onto the basement floor. A little piece of the plastic broke off the face of the unit, but the thing works just as well as before.
The funny thing was, I yelled "NO !" when it fell, and thought to myself, there goes one of my 6a's. I attached the coil cable, and turned it on...NOTHING ! I was mad as hell for being so stupid, and then I hoped I had put the batteries in wrong. Sure enough, they were in wrong, and when I switched them, I was a happy camper.
Can't beat the toughness of those older CZ's. I would like the 3D repackaged in the 6a control box. No speaker and water resistant.
